This morning we left our home and went for the adventure here in Cornatel, Romania. At 5 in the morning we left for Dortmund Flughafe. Our flight to Sibiu left at 8:55 German time and we would arrive at 12:05 Romanian time. As we arrived the first thing we noticed was the nice weather. Catalina (our mentor) would pick us up from the airport. After a 20 minute drive we arrived at the orphanage. Some kids were very shy, other were open and playful. We got a tour around the house from Catalina, played a name game with the kids and had lunch which was great. We watched television and after that we had a walk through Cornatel. We even got ice cream with the kids. A great opportunity to get to know the children. Great start of an exciting adventure.
We met Adriana, one of the childminders. She understands most English words, but doesn’t speak any English, with a little help of the children and body language we can communicate. We got a very warm and hospitable welcome.
